Everything must go: California cannabis business new regulations
Authored by Cool Dude
Strict cannabis dispensary regulations go into effect today, July 1st, 2018 across the state of California.
Businesses must not sell unapproved cannabis products starting today.
Unless a cannabis product meets strict testing requirements, it can no longer be sold in the State of California. While a few other states such as Connecticut already have strict testing requirements to test products for pesticides, metals, and other contaminants, California has not had this requirement until now.
Cannabis dispensaries have been scrambling to sell off their unapproved, untested products prior to July 1st, 2018. With many businesses claiming they need more time to get rid of product or else face possible closure due to losing so much money in unsold product, state regulators are quick to point out that the pot shops were given 6 months to sell off their unapproved inventory and there are no plans to push back the deadline.
